Candlepin Bowling Ball Set With Carry Case Gray Suede Shoes
Vintage Awesomeness!
You'll be the Queen of The Candlepin Bowling Lanes when you show up on league night toting this jawdropping 1960s set from Surrender Dorothy!
The fab Turquoise zippered carry case alone is worth the price of admission! It's soft sided and hard bottomed and has 4 removable compartments inside for storing the four nifty 4" black and blue candlepin bowling balls; each marked with the former owner's initials : KAB. The balls are a bit scruffy as I imagine Miss KAB used them quite often.
Miss KAB must have been a wee lass, as her silvery gray suede bowling shoes are a ladies size 5 1/2 with smooth crepe soles. These are a little bit worn at the top edges, but they're still pretty nice and are in very usable condition.
Maybe you'll put these retro goodies to good use once again and take up pro bowling yourself, or maybe gift them to a bowling nut or perhaps use them as very cool 1960s period photo props.
You'll think of something.
Napkins
All in all, I ended up making nearly 50 napkins in various sets for Christmas presents this year, almost all from remnants and yards purchased at fabric stores. I tried to pick out patterns and colors personally tailored for specific people, and well, while they're not exactly expert/professional quality, I had fun making them, and I hope their various recipients like them.
I have two basic rules for gifts that I give: pretty and practical. I think I nailed both with these. :) (And yes, there's the set for artisterin right on top!) My ex-roommate introduced me to the idea of using cloth napkins in lieu of paper ones, so this is a great idea for the environment, plus it saves money, and they're inexpensive and easy to make. You just toss them in the wash whenever you clean towels and sheets. So yes, part of my motivation in making and sending them to folks is to help them go a little greener. :)
